📢 UPDATE - May 1st, 2025:
Dear program participants,
Thank you for the prompt replies to our Acceptance Notification.
With all the positive responses from you, we proceed with the administrative process; and we will get back to you as soon as we make processes.
About VISA,
As far as we know, passport holders who are eligible for the visa-exempt entry can stay for up to 90 days in Taiwan, should their passport still be valid by the end of intended period of stay in Taiwan.
But, if to make sure, whether this general rule is applicable to all the visiting purposes, or whether there were any specific requirements made by the Embassies/Missions, the suggestion is to consult with the Officers.
About accommodation,
We will apply for the university dormitory for our program participants, and will cover the housing fee for the program participants who are admitted as scholarship candidates during their stay from June 23 to August 15.
The Division of Student Housing will arrange and assign the dorm rooms based on space availability. The dorm rooms are furnished, but students have to purchase bedding and pay for the use of the Internet and facilities such as AC, washing machine, etc.
On days for check-in and -out, we will make arrangements and have students from Labs to assist the process.
Details are to be sent out to you, once the Division answers our requests and gives the room numbers.
If we may, we would anticipate your arrival to NTHU no later than 14:00, June 23, and might suggest the departure time from NTHU not earlier than 10:00, August 15.
For program participants who would like to come to NTHU on the weekend (June 21 or June 22), you may consider staying in hotels near the University, or the Guest House Tsing 10F on our campus (https://affairs-guesths.vm.nthu.edu.tw/guest10/en/index.php).
About airline tickets,
When booking flights, please also take into consideration that it will take time (roughly 2-2.5hr, depending on the means of transport and the traffic) to come from/go to the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Do keep the itinerary, flight details, e-tickets, boarding pass and the passport (especially, the pages with your personal information, photo, signature, and the entry stamp); we will collect from you the needed documents for reimbursement.
Thank you.
