📢 UPDATE - June 5th, 2025:
Dear all,
We have completed the aforementioned administrative process.
✔︎ Student IDs, acquired. ✔︎ Dorm-rooms, assigned.
The exact ID Numbers and Room Numbers are provided via emails to our program participants.
Please do check the inbox.
Dorms will be open to the students who apply to stay for the summer after 12:00, noon, June 23, 2025.
We schedule to start our check-in process at 13:30 in Classroom 101 of Engineering Building 1.
Please come meet us then and there.
STUDENT ID CARD
🪪 Student ID Card will be provided on-site on June 23.
Once activated, the Student ID card will be valid for the entire program period. It will also function as the library card and the access card to the dorm.
Student discounts are applicable at the on-campus 7-Eleven and the FamilyMarts.
As customized from an iPass Card, the Student ID card can serve as an electronic wallet after being topped up, and will be accepted for virtually all public transport and convenience stores in Taiwan.
DORM
👦 For Male Program Participants, the Graduate Students are assigned to Dorm Tsing (清齋), and the Undergraduate Students are assigned to Dorm Hua (華齋).
👧 For Female Program Participants, the Graduate Students are assigned to Dorm Shiue (學齋), and the Undergraduate Student are assigned to Dorm Ya (雅齋).
Please do note it that, dorm rooms are furnished (equipped with basic furniture: chair, desk, desk-lamp, wardrobe, loft bed), but, out of hygiene considerations, students have to prepare their own sleeping bags or bedding sets (including, for example, mattress, quilt, pillow, and pillowcase), which could be ordered online and delivered to the dorm service centers, or purchased from marts or malls not far from the campus. Facilities such as the air conditioner, washing machine, etc. are charged based on consumptions. Students would need the AC Card for the use of the air conditioner, details, please see: instructions for using an air-conditioner card.

INTERNET & WIFI
🛜 The Computer and Communication Center will collect from all the students the fees for network services on campus: for non-residential Students: 150NTD/Per Month; and for Residential Students: 200NTD/Per Month.
As for Wi-Fi, it is available on campus and in most of the dorms’ common areas.
Visiting Students can access to the Wi-Fi (nthu-peap or nthu-cc), via the guest account.
We will create the guest accounts and provide the information to our program participants on June 23.
If you would like to always stay connected, for easier communication inside and outside the University, it might be nice to have a SIM card.
As for Dormitory Internet/Dorm-Net, we will register the user accounts for our program participants, but, it requires the actual user him/herself to sign on paper and sign up online with NTHU IP to activate the user account.
We will assist our program participants to complete the whole application and activation process.
Also, cables (and an adapter, if the laptop does not have an Ethernet port) are needed for internet connections.

`Pick up the Checklist, Student ID Card, and the Application Form/Payment Sheet for Network Services.
`Complete the Dorm-Net Application on-site and online.

`Confirm your accommodation.
`Pay the deposit 1,000 NTD in cash (the deposit will be returned upon check-out).
`Activate your Student ID Card as the access card to the Dorm (the access control system updates itself automatically at 05:00 am/pm; in the meantime, you would need a Temp-Card to enter and exit the dorm).
`Keep the receipt.
`Buy the AC Card, on the way to the Dorm Area.

HOW TO GET TO NATIONAL TSIG HUA UNIVERSITY FROM TAOYUAN INTERNATION AIRPORT?
Google Map is very user-friendly and can be of great help.

There are many transport options, and here are two for your considerations:

Get on the bus at *Terminal 1 or *Terminal 2, ride the bus through the highway, and then get off the bus at *National Tsing Hu University.
Go through Eastern Gate or Northern Gate, come to Engineering Building 1, and meet us at Classroom 101.

📢 UPDATE - May 1st, 2025:
Dear program participants,
Thank you for the prompt replies to our Acceptance Notification.
With all the positive responses from you, we proceed with the administrative process; and we will get back to you as soon as we make processes.
About VISA,
As far as we know, passport holders who are eligible for the visa-exempt entry can stay for up to 90 days in Taiwan, should their passport still be valid by the end of intended period of stay in Taiwan.
But, if to make sure, whether this general rule is applicable to all the visiting purposes, or whether there were any specific requirements made by the Embassies/Missions, the suggestion is to consult with the Officers.
About accommodation,
We will apply for the university dormitory for our program participants, and will cover the housing fee for the program participants who are admitted as scholarship candidates during their stay from June 23 to August 15.
The Division of Student Housing will arrange and assign the dorm rooms based on space availability. The dorm rooms are furnished, but students have to purchase bedding and pay for the use of the Internet and facilities such as AC, washing machine, etc.
- Time for CHECK-IN: after 12:00, noon, June 23.
- Time for CHECK-OUT: before 12:00, noon, August 15
On days for check-in and -out, we will make arrangements and have students from Labs to assist the process.
Details are to be sent out to you, once the Division answers our requests and gives the room numbers.
If we may, we would anticipate your arrival to NTHU no later than 14:00, June 23, and might suggest the departure time from NTHU not earlier than 10:00, August 15.
For program participants who would like to come to NTHU on the weekend (June 21 or June 22), you may consider staying in hotels near the University, or the Guest House Tsing 10F on our campus (https://affairs-guesths.vm.nthu.edu.tw/guest10/en/index.php).
About airline tickets,
When booking flights, please also take into consideration that it will take time (roughly 2-2.5hr, depending on the means of transport and the traffic) to come from/go to the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Do keep the itinerary, flight details, e-tickets, boarding pass and the passport (especially, the pages with your personal information, photo, signature, and the entry stamp); we will collect from you the needed documents for reimbursement.

Dear all,
Thank you for submitting applications to the 2025 Summer Research Program at the College of Engineering, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.
This year, we receive more than 300 applications.
The review process is now fully completed.
The result is as follows:
Due to the limited numbers of the intern position and the scholarship quota, we are not able to take all the applicants for this Summer Research Program; however, we do highly appreciate the time and efforts all the applicants have put into the pursuits of studies, and are much impressed by the academic performance and achievements all the applicants have made thus far.
Please do check the inbox for the Acceptance Letter sent on April 21st, should you get offered an intern position.
Please don't feel discouraged should you not obtain an offer for this time.

PROGRAM INFORMATION
The Summer Research Program (SRP) takes place during summer at the College of Engineering in National Tsing Hua University.
The Program welcomes university students (with completion of at least two-year university studies) from around the world into one of the six disciplines to conduct a two-month research on projects of mutual interests with local and international students and under the guidance of a faculty advisor.
