【Open for Applications】NTHU College of Engineering Outstanding International Doctoral Student Scholarship – 2026 Fall Semester　*Due by September 30

To promote internationalization, the College of Engineering at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) actively recruits and encourages outstanding international students with strong research potential to pursue doctoral studies in the College.
The College has established scholarship guidelines to provide financial support to qualified students.

We are now accepting applications for the Outstanding International Doctoral Student Scholarship from international doctoral students admitted in Fall Semester.
The deadline is September 30 (Wednesday), 2026.
 

ELIGIBILITY
International doctoral students, 
pursuing a doctoral degree in the College of Engineering in accordance with the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan; and
meeting the eligibility requirements for Type A of the NTHU International Student Scholarship; and
being selected by the College as outstanding international doctoral students.
 

QUOTA
In principle, up to seven (7) international doctoral students will be selected each year.
Priority will be given to outstanding international doctoral students admitted through newly appointed associate professors and assistant professors.
 

AMOUNT
Each recipient will receive NTD120,000 per year, equivalent to NT$10,000 per month.
 

AWARD PERIOD
Each recipient will receive the award for one year, with a maximum of three awards.
The award period is based on the semester of enrollment.

We are now accepting applications from international doctoral students admitted in the fall semester, and the award period is from September of the current year to August of the following year.

2.　Official transcripts of all academic years
3.　Study/Research Plan, within 3 pages
4.　Recommendation Letter/Consent from the Academic Advisor
5.　Certificate of Enrollment
6.　Notification of Award for the NTHU International Student Scholarship – Type A

7.　Additional Materials　*please present the supporting evidence in bullet points.
 

APPLICATION PROCESS
Before the application deadline(2026/09/30), applicants should prepare the required documents, complete the online application form, and submit the required documents in hard-copy to the Office of the College of Engineering. The College will conduct the review and determine the list of award recipients. Applicants will then be notified of the results, and the scholarship disbursement process will be arranged accordingly.

STUDENT
- prepare the required documents, confirm with the academic advisor, complete the Online Application Form & submit required documents to the Officeof the College of Engineering (Room 306, Engineering Building I)

NOTES
The application is now open to international doctoral students admitted in the fall semester.

The application deadline is September 30 (Wednesday), 2026.
 Applicants must complete the online application form and submit the required documents in harp-copy before the deadline.

The College of Engineering reserves the right to make adjustments or revisions to these Guidelines as necessary and at any time.The College also reserves the right to make the final decision regarding changes, interpretation, or cancellation of the scholarship.
Any updates or changes will be announced on the website of the College of Engineering website and will not be communicated separately.
