[COE Seminar] 2026/09/15: "Human-Machine Interfaces for Autonomous Systems" - Dr. Yuan-Cheng Liu, TUM
11510E500100 Seminar
TOPIC
▸ Human-Machine Interfaces for Autonomous Systems
❝ Human–machine interfaces play a critical role in supporting effective interaction with increasingly automated systems. This seminar focuses primarily on HMI design for automated vehicles, covering key constructs such as transparency, trust, situation awareness, cognitive workload, and user understanding. Common evaluation approaches, including behavioral measures and physiological sensing, are also introduced. The discussion then extends to HMI challenges in aviation, particularly within the cockpit environment. Building on these topics, potential directions for future HMI development will also be introduced and discussed. ❞
