The Molecular Engineering Program is an interdisciplinary program composed of faculty members from the College of Engineering as well as from the Chemistry and Physics Departments of the College of Science. The Program emphasizes molecular basis in materials development and device fabrication. With two mandatory core courses (Molecular Engineering I and II) as the unifying theme, the program aims to integrate talents of students from various undergraduate disciplines with expertise of advisors from different departments into research teams of interdisciplinary and complementary capacities for the exploration of areas at frontiers of science and technology, such as molecular level functional devices and processes . This Program was launched in 2007 ; further development to incorporate a PhD program in the near future is expected.
